Refund

Postby adam5k » Thu May 01, 2008 12:12 pm

We have been trying since Jan to get a refund on our purchase. With the delay in shipping we choose to cancel our order and get a full refund. Several phone calls to the special 800 number they set up have gone nowhere. Anyone else have the same experience?

Our next step is with legal action.

After one call to the main number in Cambridge, MA our problem has been resolved. Appears they are having issues with an outside vendor.

Oh yes, this is my hell. I've been calling for months. My laptop arrived dead back in December. I returned it right away and then waited months for a replacement. Finally, about six weeks ago I gave up and asked for a refund. "No problem". So then I called back three weeks later...then another three weeks later...then today. Each time I'm told I'll get a call back and/or a refund but never do. At least the person I talked to today was nice and apologized. I think I've put in eight or nine calls so far.

In the end she said she try back in a week and see if the refund was issued. Ugh.

Mark,
Call the Cambridge number listed on the web site. It worked much quicker.

I wonder if all the refunds, replacements, and repairs will be done by the time G1G0 starts again?

Yes, it's official, the OLPC RMA people suck beyond believe. I called this number just now:

1-800-201-7144

And they forwarded me on to this number:

617-459-5661

Which then forwarded me to this number:

1-800-883-8102

Where I talked to a very nice woman who collected all my info yet again. I asked if she could look up and see why my refund was never issued. "No, sorry I don't have that info." Then she forwarded me onto the first number in my list of number which of course just forwards back to her.

Now I have to wait another 7 to 10 days. Maybe this time I'll get a refund, though I doubt it. I believe this might have been my twelve call into them.
