I got my PIN on 5/18. I went to the T-Mobile website and it said offer expired 6/30/2008. Since I was not in any need of T-Mobile, I figured I wait until the last day to sign up.
Today, 6/30, I tried and it said "Card with that serial number has expired." I called T-Mobile and they said to call OLPC. What are my chances of getting a PIN on 6/30 so T-Mobile will still take it? Has anyone else run into this problem?
I'm having the same problem and t-mobile is looking into it. My guess since there is more than one of us - they cancelled it a day early. Hopefully they'll fix it and I'll post an update when they call me back.
I am getting the run-around from OLPC and T-Mobile.
OLPC says: Is there any chance you signed up for T-Mobile but did not activate?
T-Mobile HotSpot may be able to look you up in their database to see if you have an account.
T-Mobile says (from my e-mail to OLPC):
I just called T-Mobile again to verify. She said she could not find me as a HotSpot customer (I am a mobile phone customer with them). She said a lot other people are having the same problem. She said the PIN and authorization process is fully under the control of the partner, you - even though the page itself is on their website.
She said I am not the only one who is having this problem. It is giving everyone this error and they have been getting a lot of calls the last few days.
At least we have this forum so we can figure out what happened...
T-Mobile sign up hit a snag at the web sign-up page today June 30, which should be fixed later today and have an extended time frame to sign up given the error.
