Destination of the XO donations

Just out of curiosity, could G1G1 donors designate which country they want their laptops to be donated? I heard from a friend here in Asia Pacific that we could designate our laptops to be donated to Sichuan, but I couldn't see any links on Amazon directing me to do so. For those who have successfully donated through the US Amazon web site, can u select your destination country of donation?

sorry to say that you can't direct your donated XO to go to a specific location. the donations go into a pool that OLPC uses to seed deployments.

I heard that the scheme here in Asia Pacific is planning to donate XOs to the children affected in the Sichuan earthquake. Anyone got any idea about OLPC's footsteps in China?

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/China shows a status of Orange -- which means that someone at the Ministerial level or higher expressed interest. But I don't see any more info than that.

I have donated an XO through the Hong Kong G1G1 program and the OLPC office here said that they will deliver our donation to the children in Sichuan. I tried and ask for more delivery information but no one answered my question so far. Is there a way I could track where my donation will end up in?
