I stood by the stormy shores of the sea of Web 2.0, and with bravely concealed terror, asked my trusted companion, Fire of the Fox clan, to use his wits learned from a passing Yahoo in finding the true source of Negropontian wisdom.

Yes, Fire had heard rumors of the trusted map of Wiki, and set forth into the darkness through the Kingdom of Comcast where we heroically fended off attacks from vicious tribes of Isps, Voips, and Popups.

We battled to the steps of the enormous portal doors of Wiki where we would surely have perished at the hands of the Googles had Fire not discovered a magical dialog box window through which we crawled unpursued. Had our luck finally changed? There was no time for such an answer as we hastened our quest by quickly following a trail of links to the Page of Contacts.

We scribed our urgent message, handed it to a passing outbox in whom we placed all our trust. And we waited...

The brittle boredom of waiting was often shattered by the nuisance raids of small low flying Spam until in the distance we saw it. A pure mail, untainted by the viruses that had been known to plague the lands through which we had fought. It swooped into view, and when we saw it clutching the dispatch we craved, our stoic desperation was rescued.

It alighted nearby, barely allowing us to read the fair correspondence first hand, before it was lost in yet another assault of the Spam. The message was clear, profound and certain. Each word, and there were only two, carefully chosen. “Cool, Granted” they said with imperial authority.

Hardened warriors are rarely surprised, but in this duty we surely were. We desperately scribbled our wishes, exposing our hearts and best punctuation. Each link and description carefully crafted with Laptoponian goodness. Sadly we entrusted our return dispatch to an Outlook from Express. Aye, it is true that in this life there be support from many an open source, but the battles had been grueling, the skirmishes had been exhausting and at that moment our resolve and resistance were mortally weakened.

Would our note arrive? We could only wait...

Yes my friends the saga hath no end.

At first we thought it was sorcery, but our ears surely deceived us not. There was the distant music of ancient lands growing louder with each heartbeat. We were delirious with joy, for it was the orchestra of victory that would lead our procession through Wiki to witness our community’s name chiseled on the Support page of wiki.laptop.org.

The procession was grand. The multitudes of Wiki lined the streets and in a ceremony of unbridled delight. We were knighted and received the keys to many nooks and crannies of Wiki, to edit and be merry. Alas amongst this glory, we had failed, for to that one page of worth, to that page of Support, our access had been denied.

Fox from Fire and I, crestfallen but still fearless, had urgent conference with the prince of the land who reigned over that county of the kingdom. We used mails a many to reason to his highness, to appeal to his sense of “oops!â€Â

The skies all around the Kingdom of Wiki have certainly begun to clear my friends, for the news by nature is very good!

Nay, the prince provided not the keys, but his actions were noble and worthy, for by royal decree, he has firmly planted our fair community in the rich earth of history to flourish and bloom, for its name is now chiseled in the realm of Support.

His sense of "oops" has been fully redeemed, and replaced by "oohs!", "oompahs" and "oo-la-las!" May he receive a feast of praises, an orchestra or merriment and fives very high wherever he may roam!

Fire of the Fox clan and I have been sipping eggnog in contentment. Unflinchingly we wait for tomorrow’s quest as it leads us where it may...
