Does anyone around Europe have the possibility to get hands on an XO? I ordered one via a friend living in NY and expect to receive it in few weeks time.

My interest on the XO is manyfold; I'm an sustainable product design specialist working at Design for Sustainability program at Delft University of Technology. So you can imagine that I look forward to play with the product and also for the OLPC program to be a successful one.

I was wondering if there are more European enthusiast out there. If so, it would be great to set a European OLPC chapter and learn from each others' experiences, as well as explore the possibility to develop peripherals (at DfS we've experience in photovoltaic for portable electronics) and applications for the machine.

For the time being, and while waiting for the XO to arrive, I developed the OLPC Fan Show, a 24/7 internet tv channel around the OLPC program. Check it out at

I have one, it feels a bit lonely... Would be keen to experiment meshing with others!

Hi Oriol,

take a look at: and you will see there are more XO's around. ( Ireceived mine last friday) We had a first meeting already which was quite a success.

If you want to we can set up a European grassroots organization.

Hi Ent,

After posting in this forum and the OLPC News forum, I found the NL group and an article on a magazine about your first meeting. This is great! I'm definetly interested to catch up with more XO owners/entusiasts in NL and around EU. I'll be there when organizng another meeting.

Thanks for your kind words.
