Automatic login to router with WEP passkey?

Postby vcaston » Tue Aug 12, 2008 10:53 pm

Is it possible to set up the XO so that it automatically logs in to our router with a WEP passkey?

(I've read various threads on WPA passkeys, but haven't found anything on WEP passkeys.)

Details:

OS Build 708, with an Apple Extreme router.

I can connect to the router fine, by converting a 13 character password to hex and selecting 'hex' and 'shared' from the dropdown menus of the login dialog. But on rebooting, it asks for the passkey all over again.

I'd rather not make my 7 year old type in the full 26 digit passkey each time.

Thanks.

Have you looked at wiki topic "WiFi Conectivity" and its link to manual access association ? :

Also this has some useful information "Fixing WEP loss passkey" :
