Ok, first check that there is no lock symbol on the icon that represents your "open access hotspot".
If there is, it is locked and you would need the "key" or "passphrase" from the access point owner.
I think we can assume it is not,
otherwise you would have been prompted for a passphrase before. The other though I had was... if you ever have connected to this access point before, it might have switched wireless channels (1, 6, or 11). If so the network cfg reset would allow connecting to the different channel.To do so
Click on the XO Icon (Main Menu), Select "Control Panel", then "Network", click on "Delete network history", then restart the XO. Reminder again - You will have to reenter your home router/access points key or pass phrase
