Not seeing others in Neighborhood

Postby menon.samir » Mon Feb 15, 2010 11:28 am

I am running an emulated sugar enviroment off of ubuntu.
My Jabber server is set to xochat.org, but I still don't see anyone.
I know I am connected to the internet, because I can browse the internet.
Why can't I see anyone?

Thanks!

The jabber site xochat.org shutdown about a year ago. The most active sites are the OLPC and Chicago sites:

Ohhhhh....
See, I looked around and everyone said xochat.org...
Guess they were old posts...
Still, even when set to those, I don't see anyone... :?:

Please supply more information.

What Sugar emulator are you using (Jbuild ?, which may not work correctly with jabbers)
What version of Ubuntu ?

If you are not using Sugarlab's Sugar-on-a-Stick (SoaS), try the Blueberry version download at sugarlab.org. It boots and operates from a USB thumb drive without changing the existing software on your computer. Then use jabber.sugarlab.org as your "mesh server".

What times are you connecting to the Jabbers ? There is almost no activity in the "wee hours of the morn" (EST), even if it is noon in Australia.
