Could someone please walk me through how to install a USB to Ethernet Adaptor on my OLPC?
This is really urgent for me so I would appreciate it if someone helped. According to the wiki webpage, th Belkin USB 10/100 was listed as a compatible device. When I recieved it in the mail after buying it, it said it's meant for windows only and it comes with an installation CD.

Should I buy a different adapter or is it possible I can get this one to work? Please shed some light for someone not great with computers.

The zoltantech.com model ZU-80 has long been used on the XO. It was at one time sold by ilovemyxo.com for the XO, but they no longer stock it. There have been listings on ebay.

It still works with the newest software 12.1.0. Plug it in before powering on and it "just" works -- no software to load (in device or kernel ?).

Not tried Belkin, but have you actually tried it ? The XO takes a little longer to start up if any USB device is present.
