XO for Autistic child, resolution, flash and rendering

Postby Vincent VanVinyl » Tue Apr 14, 2009 1:54 pm

So i got my now 12 year old autistic son this XO so he could play, connect , learn, etc. Needless to say he was very exited, however, Sugar was not a big hit, and yes i am aware that the XO is a learning machine, he uses a pc at school and a mac at home, he likes utube and playing games, the absence of flash on the XO prevented him from doing his favorite computer activities, so i got busy installing Ubuntu and after a few months i managed to install Ubuntu only to be disappointed that flash is very slow, the tons of wonderful games and educational apps available don't render as they should and i can not adjust the resolution. I'm trying to minimize my sons frustration level but i'm ending up extremely frustrated myself.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
