Autostart video presentation

I am working in the Vienna Science Museum. We have an OLPC in our new exhibition "all at working". It should display a short video about the ideas of the OLPC project.

I have converted the video to the ogg format and have a short script to start it in totem with the loop option on. So far everything is ok.

But now I need to autostart it after complete boot. A .desktop file in the /etc/xdg/autostart is not working. Who can help me.

Thomas

What desktop environment / window manager are you running? It sounds like this is not going to be an interactive unit, but a completely passive unit, and so you elected to not use Sugar, but something else? Gnome? KDE? XFCE? Using those as google guides may net you what you are looking for.

Post back with results? Good luck!
