XO-1 - Building a "gspca" kernel module

Postby dtbaker » Tue Jan 10, 2012 3:00 am

Hi all,

Successfully running Ubuntu from a USB stick on an OLPC XO-1.

Kernel is: 2.6.31_xo1-20110320.1409.1.olpc.3d8536c28d6c5a1

I would like to build a "gspca" kernel module that is compatible with this kernel so I can use an external USB webcam on the OLPC (or rebuild my own kernel if that is safer).

I am currently following this wiki entry: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Kernel#Buildi ... LPC_kernel but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I'm up to going through the kernel configuration - so many questions!

Does anybody have some handy hints on how I can best go about getting this "gspca" module onboard?

Thanks!
Dave
