Executing a shell script from the Gnome interface.

Suppose you have an executable shell script /home/olpc/Desktop/script.sh. An icon will be visible in the Gnome interface. Double clicking on the icon will yield a dialogue with four buttons, one of which is labeled Run. How can this dialogue be avoided so that the script is executed directly after the double click?

Can't a script be executed directly without opening a termnal?
