Since the XO is the most "safe" and durable than your regular PC, it's has immunity towards viruses. If you still feel you need the antivirus software: http://www.clamav.net and http://www.netfilter.org/. Good Luck!

Clam AntiVirus is an open source (GPL) anti-virus toolkit for UNIX, designed especially for e-mail scanning on mail gateways.

The XO is not a mail gateway. This does not apply.

netfilter.org is home to the software of the packet filtering framework

netfilter is a firewall, and can enable a linux box (your XO) to be a router. You should not need to be using your XO as a router, and almost all port are already disabled.

You do not need either of these software packages for the XO.

I tend to have a different opinion about antivirus is not needed on linux based systems. There are linux viruses out there and will do harm to your laptop if they infect it.

However, since a virus can only do something harmfull when being able to execute as root, most linux based systems are less vulnerable because an ordinairy user by default has no root privileges. This does not mean those viruses aren't there.

Have a look overhere
