not shutting down correctly

when I use the shutdown command I get...

invalid filter 1
.
. pages later
.
invalid filter 1

waiting for x server to shutdown ....

ninit unexpected signal 15


After waiting several minutes i then do a shutdown.
Next time the machine starts up just fine.
I just received this machine from Amazon a few days ago

either none or just the journal app. old windows habit to shut apps before stopping system

hmmmm. I've seen this behavior on my XO when running beta and/or buggy activities. But never when nothing was running. I'm not going to be much help. Sorry :oops:

Have you contacted help@laptop.org? They'll probably want your log files (Log Activity).

Same thing happened to me. I was playing Speak, but am pretty sure I closed it so ony journal entry was open, and maybe possible the browse activity.
