Wireless Linksys Connectivity Problem

Postby luke4101 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 8:24 pm

I have a WRT100 G Linksys router and cannot get into my network. The laptop wants me to use the encryption key which I try to enter but it won't work.

Linksys support says they only support Vista and XP and that their router might not work with another OS.

Can anyone help? (Previously, I had a D-Link wireless and was able to get in - might that have created a problems?) Or, can I use a wireless adapter?

I'd appreciate some imput - thus far, am having fun learning how to work with the OLPC. JaneL

As of right now the XO does not support WPA wireless connections, only open or WEP connections will work.

Check out the Wireless Mesh / Wired Networking forums, specifically the How to Connect to Home Wireless Networks thread. That'll get you started.

As for WPA, check out the WPA Supported? thread which tells you how to get your XO connected via WPA, since even as of "right now", it very much does support WPA wireless connections.
