Any hope for vlc any more?

I have just been trying to install vlc on my g1g1 and it seems like just a wasteland of dead links. rpmfusion doesn't do Fedora 9 any more. livna seems to, but there seems to be no vlc in their repository. I tried downloading an old Fedora 9 version of vlc (0.9.5) I found on freshrpms (should be stalerpms?) but the dependencies were too much for me to overcome.

Is there any hope for me or have I missed the boat?
